Lake Manyara is a shallow lake said by Ernest Hemingway to be the "loveliest ... in Africa," it is also home to a diverse set of landscapes of fauna and flora.
While best known for baboons, the lake and its environs are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes, recommended for bird watching with more than 300 migratory birds.
